NIST keeps time with Binary Net

The National Institute of Standards and Technology maintains 27 public servers worldwide for accurate time distribution, the most recent installation is located in Lincoln Nebraska at Binary Net’s datacenter. This is the only server located between Chicago, IL and Boulder, CO. NIST’s extremely accurate time recording services led them to create 2 ion clocks, each measure a single ion of aluminum to make a clock that would not gain or lose more than one second in 3.7 billion years.
