Making changes to your website through FTP

1. Get an FTP program that you can become comfortable with, such as FileZilla.
2. Install the program. Open the program.
3. Begin setting up a new site. The following information will be needed to set up the account in the FTP program:

FTP Host Address: matrix.binary.net
username: (your user name given to you by binary net for your virtual host account)
password: (your password for your binary net virtual host account)
Leave all other fields at their defaults

4. Double-click /pubhtml directory once you are logged on to the server.
5. Upload files here to publish them on the internet.

Other Information

CGI Scripts must have permissions set to 755 to run.

Any file named index.htm, html, php, cgi or default.htm, html, php, cgi will be used as the default file for the directory.

By default, the FTP program attempts to choose a transfer type. Non-text files uploaded in ASCII mode may not display correctly. To ensure these files transfer correctly, change transfer type to BINARY.
