Mac OS 8.6 DSL Setup
Dynamically Assigned IP (more info)
- Start your computer.
- Click on the Apple icon located in the menu bar at the upper left corner of your desktop.
- Choose the control panels, then click TCP/IP.
- From the "Connect Via:" pop-up list in the upper portion of the window, select "Ethernet".
- In the "Configure:" pop-up list in the lower portion of the window, select "Using DHCP".
- Close the window and save the settings.
Static IP (more info)
- Start your computer.
- Click on the Apple icon located in the menu bar at the upper left corner of your desktop.
- Choose the control panels, the click TCP/IP.
- From the "Connect Via:" pop-up list in the upper portion of the window, select "Ethernet".
- In the "Configure:" pop-up list in the lower portion of the window, select "Manual" and enter your IP address, the router IP, and the subnet mask as given to you by support.
- Close the window and save the settings.
